Q: Who is Man Or Astro-Man?

A: Here's a quick biography of the current lineup (thanks to
www.astroman.com)

	STAR CRUNCH,

while originally from grid sector 23-B6-1, learned his
incredible guitar techniques in the Neutral Zone. His alien
DNA structure allows him to transform into anything and
everything (like Mechagodzilla, or a zippo lighter embossed
with the image of Dr Stephen Hawking, or a hypothetical
survivalist militia cavalry group from Atlantis who carry
laser tridents and ride on sea turtles) and play the guitar
better than anyone with five fingers and regular bones.
What?...sea turtles and laser tridents? HUH? who wrote this?

	BIRDSTUFF,

also from sector 23-B6-1, manipulates the drums in constant
celebration of Earth Christmas, surf-style. Birdstuff
studies science fiction movies so he may assemble a giant
"Yulotronic Regulator Cannon" in the back yard area. When
fired at the Earth's North Pole, the ray will cause
Christmas to occur every day. Huh? where is this coming
	from?

	COCO THE ELECTRONIC MONKEY WIZARD

is a cybernetic lifeform built by Star Crunch and Birdstuff
in space. He is the mastermind behind all the gizmos and
special effects and stuff, including bass, samplers, the
eerie Theremin, and the dreaded Tesla Coil. His
malfunctioning anti-matter conversion bladder caused the
unfortunate destruction of the Astro-Men's space ship which
left them stranded on Earth in our time. The synthetic
portion of his brain includes components of an old Atari
	2600. ...um..closer.

	DEXTER X

does not participate in the studio experiments of Man... Or
Astro-Man?, but has performed live with them since the
summer of 1995. His two brains and bionic implants allow him
to switch between bass and rhythm guitar flawlessly. Dexter
X is some kind of mercenary bounty hunter exiled from Planet
	Q. Touch and Go Ground Control worries that he is secretly
under assignment by the Atari Corporation to capture Coco.

Q: When did the band first land on earth?

A: Reportedly around the start of 1992. Their first live shows began a
few months later. First recordings were released very early in 1993.

Q: What are the Astro-Men's REAL names?

A: The above names ARE their REAL names. Any other names that may appear
are not officially sanctioned or verifiable. People who insist on
proposing alternative names are in fact defeating the purpose of names.

Q: What the deal with Dexter X and all the other "Fourth Members" of the
lineup?

A: It's really hard to keep it all straight. Coco has made attempts to
explain it to us on the Astro-List. Here's what we can gather:

Grand Master Useless (1992) - The original post-crash
fourth-member of Man Or Astro-Man? played bass and organ who
quickly developed problems with the Earth's atmosphere.

Dr. Deleto (1992 - 1994) - Replaced Grand Master Useless and
operated bass, organ and rhythm guitar. His reason for
departure is unclear at this time.

Mr. Neutron (1994) - Replaced Deleto on bass and
rhythm guitar for a short period of less than one
Earth-month before his unoccupied electron shells caused a
	fatal collapse.

Captain Zeno (1994 - 1995) - Was rought in to play bass,
rhythm guitar and organ. The band soon discovered him to
be human masquerading as an alien life form. Zeno then left
Man Or Astro-Man? to pursue existence with the Earth-band
	The Quadrajets.

	Dexter X (1995 - present) - The current fourth-member met up
with Man Or Astro-Man after leaving his home of Planet Q and
	being escaping a supernova.

Q: Who is Bookman?

A: Bookman was one of the original assistants of the Astro-Men, helping
them adjust to Earth-bound life and sometimes assisting with on-stage
antics. In particular, he came on stage to lead the "Bunny Foo-foo dance"
to "Reverb 1000". He was the master of the VCR-TV hookup used in early
stage shows. He left to work for Estrus Records.

Q: Who is The Lounge Lizard?

A: The Lounge Lizard was also an original assistant. In addition to
heavy lifting, he did handled PR, and designed t-shirts.

Q: Who is the Brannock Device?

A: The Brannock Device is a more recent roadie. Also fronts a band
called Grumpy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Section 3. Astro-Recordings
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How many albums/records/CDs have the Astro-Men released?

A: While nobody knows for sure, the most complete listing resides on the
Man Or Astro-Man? Web Site at http://www.astroman.com/ .

Q: Which releases should I buy?

A: All of them, of course. In all formats. You could even buy the
vinyl in all available shades, but that's optional.

Q: Why isn't Star Crunch Listed on the liner notes on Live Transmissions
From Uranus included with the CD?

A: It was an oversight on the artwork when converting the album artwork
to the CD. Later re-releases of the album include Star Crunch.

Q: What is meant by "pulling a Jim Stacey" as mentioned by Coco on Live
Transmission From Uranus?

A: Jim Stacey was the lead dinger for The LaBrea Stompers. Evidently he
had an amusing habit of blowing his nose on stage (no tissue or
handkerchiefs necessary... just "on the stage"). Has also been known to
dress up in whiteface and a clown suit to front a circus-theme band
called Big Top.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Section 4. Other Astro-Questions
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What is the connection between Man Or Astro-Man? and the band
Servotron?

A: Man Or Astro-Man? is in direct contact with the Servotron Robot
Allegiance. It appears that certain mechanical members of Servotron
have modeled themselves after the Astro-Men.

Q: What is the Connection between Man Or Astro-Man? and Operation
Re-Information?

A: In the interest of sound-conservation Man Or Astro-Man? is also in
contact with O.R.I. Together they have shared in future and past
electronic audio reprocessing techniques.

Q: What happened to "The Live Internet Broadcast" scheduled for
September 11, 1997.

A: Technical Difficulties. It seems that something happened with the
ISDN hookup between the club and the Internet. This is often a problem
with primitive Earth technologies.

Q: I heard that Man Or Astro-Man? is being sued by NASA over the
controversial "Astro Logo". Is this true?

A: The whole NASA lawsuit ordeal is not over. The current situation is
of a sensitive and confidential nature. The Astro-Men will release all
information on their web site when this issue is resolved. Here are
some interesting news articles regarding this incident (these articles
have not been confirmed nor denied):

http://www.chartnet.com/damn/021997.html

Q: Boxers or briefs?

A: In space there is no underwear. Man Or Astro-Man uses
specially-designed hermetically-sealed full-body undergarments for wear
on Earth.

Q: What is a Magno-Interferometer?

A: A tool used for communications

Q: Is there polygamy in space? (a question from one of out listees)

A: In the Grid Sector relationships are a little different because
everyone exists as gasses. The concept of polygamy and individuality in
general become non-issues when one exists in a less-dense state.
